I See Blind

Take this pain from whence it came

Long winding road that lies beneath the warrior’s eye

Try and try, but we both know that there is more

We take our full force and break like leaves upon the shore

More, More! This exquisite test of human frailty sells me.

Rape me, torture me, and impale me! My wits, this time, my hope, will never fail me

Upon the scenic river, we turn our visions to a slanderous gray

Upon this day, we are men, and our convictions do not stray

Upon this moment in time, the blind fade with eyes as wide as the sea

And I agree, there’s nothing new, nothing that holds true, no me, no us, no you

I’m alive! Oh yes! I’m alive….so I seek to help with knowledge gained.

You have a passion for humanity, but you realize the world around you hasn’t changed.

These barren plains that reside in the mind of those you hold high.

From the inscription, through conviction, They couldn’t find a place for water to reside.

Can I be a guide, when the hands I hold are brittle and worn?

Lose yourself, everything else, and my wings will shelter you through this storm.
