Weeping Souls

Weeping Souls

Our roads we travel, lost minds were aware ever since..
The dawn of time has passed again.
Here I behold neither friend nor foe,
I’m frightened, yet protective, of this weeping soul.
From the echoes far beneath, I hear laughter that chills my heart
I’m drawn to the cusp, like he wanted us, and cast my body into the sunshine dust.
I land in a river that’s neither young nor old, neither hot nor cold,
Yet I still feel the presence of this weeping soul.
The wind starts to stir so I look toward shore
The clanging of metal hanging leads me close…closer than I have been before
Clothed with honor I demand to know the score
I howl at the wind and pray that He searches within,
And sees the true me at my core.
I’ve aged through time and the wind has taken its toll
The night sky still shines while the distant thunder rolls
To think of magnificence is to reach one’s silent goals
But to touch, oh, to touch…and heal those weeping souls.
